Tamil superstar Rajinikanth is recovering rapidly at the Sri Ramachandra Medical University (SRMU) at Porur in Chennai and his health condition is fine, said a medical bulletin issued by the SRMU. This bulletin has not reassured fans of the Superstar, who have sparked frenzy by believing reports that Rajinikanth is dead.
Rajini was taken to the Sri Ramachandra Medical University (SRMU) at Porur on Saturday after his respiratory condition worsened. At the hospital, doctors conducted a CT scan, which revealed that he was suffering from pneumonia. Blood tests conducted later on showed that he is also suffering from renal and gastric issues.
The 61-year-old actor needs complete rest, said doctors who are treating him.
"He has been advised to stay in hospital for thorough examination to ensure normal health status. A team of doctors, comprising specialists and general physicians, is attending on him, doing necessary investigation and appropriate treatment is being given to him. He is cheerful and is being treated in the private ward," a bulletin issued by the SRMU said.
Rajinikanth's family has also strongly refuted rumors that he has died and have said he is recovering rapidly. Media reports also claim that he could go abroad for treatment, although no official statement has been issued.
