Rescued Woman Says She Was Raped by Many

JAIPUR: In another twist to the case of a woman's molestation by the cops of Pratap Nagar police station including the SHO, her friend, Neha (name changed) who had gone missing on January 18 and found later near Mathura on Wednesday, has accused several people of raping her. In a statement given to a metropolitan magistrate, she also accused the molestation victim of being an accomplice in the crime.

The names of a senior RAS officer's son, a medical student and a doctor have come up as among who raped her. The police are now in a fix about how to proceed further. The police claimed that they are likely to get a copy of the statement on Monday and will corroborate the claims made her with evidences. Accordingly, they would act against the rape accused including the RAS officer's son.

On January 25, 20-year-old Vandana (name changed) had attempted suicide by jumping before a moving train. She alleged that she was called to Pratap Nagar police station for questioning in connection with Neha's whereabouts after the later went missing on January 18. Vandana alleged that she was molested by SHO Ramniwas Vishnoi and two other policemen. The accused policemen are currently in jail. The police had launched a frantic search for the missing girl after the suicide attempt by her. Neha was found three days ago from a village near Mathura in UP.

Neha said she had met Vandana while going to coaching classes. On December 7 last year, Vandana called Neha to her room where she was drugged and raped in an unconscious state. When she woke up she allegedly found a youth in the bed. She said in her statement that he again raped her. She also alleged that Vandana made a video clip and threatened to make it public and post it on the internet. After that Vandana allegedly used to make Neha meet other youths on a regular basis.

Neha alleged that another youth who used to roam around in a car fitted with a red-beacon and claimed to be the son of a senior RAS officer, also raped her in a hotel. Others whom she had accused of raping her include a doctor and a medical student. She claims that she attempted to delete the clipping from the laptop, but the accused showed her the same in their mobile phone and a pen drive.

She claimed that on January 18, she was hit with a stick on her head and drugged. Then she found herself in a train on way to Pune with a youth who identified himself as Bunty. He took her to his village near Mathura where he pretended that she was his wife. During her stay there, she underwent an abortion. She somehow managed to call her father following which she was rescued.

Commissioner of police BL Soni said that the police are yet to get a copy of the statement. "We will corroborate the girl's claims with facts and evidences and act accordingly," Soni said.
